Hi can anyone please tell me if the cylinders being sold in the UK now have the CE markings (CE*******) I have just been to get them filled in France and was told my cylinders arn't no good.
Thanks

Both of mine have CE0038 stamped on 'em. I have some older cylinders in the house that have a BS mark stamped on them. So, I guess if the shop's stock is reasonably new, that would be yes, but probably best to look.

From memory of when I was getting fills in Francish type places the last couple of years, all they cylinders are the same ( I asked Faber about that one) but in the UK they are stamped CE0038, and in France I think it is CE 0062 (?).

If you have CE0038 on them, they should fill em, if not, give em some stick. (and 2 fingers :)

Ah...but when you "give 'em some stick (and two fingers)" - do remember that they own and operate the peice of kit you wish to access!;)

And don't try to convince them with official papers...they are Gallic! (and paper means nowt to them!):(

Now...give 'em a smelly, rancid and runny cheese and your cylinders will be filled before any paperwork could have been read!:D

That's OK if they're french then it's considered fair game.
lets face it they are a bit odd and really never seem to like us!
you cant blame them though, they are semi detached to the Germans, Terraced between the Italians and Dutch , across the pond from them is the British in their detached property, who wont stay on their side! enough to drive any race to blibobbledy and awkwardness.

Out of interest does anyone know if a British kite mark is accepted in Europe?
