Hi guys

I'm looking to purchase a dive computer pretty soon and really confused as to whether I should get the Sunnto Vyper or the Aladdin Prime.

Can I hear your views on which one is best? I'm not really a techie diver (yet-watch this space) so not looking for anything too fancy.

All advice welcome!

Also, has anyone tried the FA&MI Evo 40/ Evo 50 torch?

Would go with the Sunnto myself as never had a problem with one yet. If you can afford it & anticipate the need for it one day, i'd go the extra yard & buy the Vytec though. They can be purchased for around the £300 mark without the transmitter in the UK if you look in the right places.
This would buy you Nitrox & multiple gas functions for little extra outlay.

Hi
Sunnto Vyper did me as my first / only dive computer. Nitrox, downloadable etc etc. The Prime is a newer design but I think does all the same stuff (Ir download does not need a cable if you have a laptop).

I am sure someone will continue the tread with a techical discusion of the deco models used by each.

all in the sig

Regards
Nick

Thanks, hoping to get one online tomorrow.
There doesn't seem to be that much of a difference in price between the two at c. €270 (£180) which doesn't help my decision......

Most new laptops don't have IR
It's all Bluetooth now

So you will end up using a cable anyway

I'm after a Mares M1 or M1 RGBM myself, but if you're buying, and have the money, get the Vytec. It will offer you a better future proof solution for when you head into gas switching and the likes.

I'm after a simple EANx/Air computer, without gas switching capabilities, because im not exactly near to needing that functionality. Also the M1 runs on pen batteries (AA) which you can pick up anywhere in the world for not much.
