Well the dear old wife wants to buy something for Xmas as a stocking filler, I asked for her but all I got was "in ya dreams!" so off I went pondering.

So as I get older and sitting on a cramped RHIB attempting to put on fins graciously is getting harder to do. :o Brainwave, Beaver Fin Springs.

So before I say to the dear old wife that I want some Beaver Fin Springs to put on Mares fins I would like opinions for and against.

Thanks

I've heard mixed reports. The springs themselves are fine but I believe some people have had a problem securing them to the lugs on the fins.

Have a look at these (http://www.kitfondle.co.uk/fins/index.htm) - I bought a pair and they are excellent. Woz'll sell you whatever fitting is best for the fins you already have. Making them is about a 15 minute job...

I've had fin springs on for about six months now and I'm very happy with them.
You need a decent sock or properly padded boots though. Could be a bit harsh on your ankle otherwise.

I bought some in June for my Cressi fins and they have been fine. Easy to fit and everyone I know who has them says the same thing.

And at about £17 they are half the price as the ones mentioned and you don't have to build them yourself. :D

A word though I would try a pair on with you drysuit boots, I take small fins size 5 shoe and I was told I would need medium fin straps and they were perfect.

Good thing about them is you can use them with drysuit boots and wetsuit boots, which I was very surprised at.

I bought some for my Mares in July and would not be without them now, £17 and about 30 seconds to fit.

Make sure you get the right size though.

Perfect for Rhib diving.
