Hi everyone!

I'm a bit desperate for help here as we leave for the Maldives on Sunday and my new dive computer isn't working correctly.

I learnt to dive last year (here in the UK) before going to Veligandu in the Maldives. Great holiday, really loved the buzz of diving and we're returning on Sunday.

On the way home last August, I bought a new Aladin Sport Plus at Male Airport at the Duty Free shop. It has never been used, and was old "new" stock. Two months ago, I checked it. It didn't work, no display, so I returned it to Uwatec UK and they fitted a new battery for free.

I came to check it while packing tonight, and the LCD display is barely visible except when looking at it from an angle.

The battery is 98%. Nothing about adjusting the intensity of the LCD display in the instructions. Can anyone help here? Can I adjust the display? If so, how?

Thanks in anticipation for any help, as I'd love to use my new computer when we arrive back in the Maldives.

Cheers!

Jonothan

You can't adjust the intensity - in anyything but bright direct sunlight (or utter darkness) it should be easily visible.

From your description it seems to be broken.

Using text speak makes reading very difficult

Jonothan will require a dive computer for his holiday, so using tables is not an option.

Opps just seen the date of ther thread.

Hi Jonathon.

I have the Aladin Prime which is similar to the sport and the display is nice and clear. I think that Uwatec will replace the whole computer if you contact them they are a highly reputable company. I would not like to think that I had spent so much money on a new computer and then had to have it repaired. I understand your problem as you go on holiday on Sunday and you will need a computer if you live anywhere near me you are more than welcome to borrow mine.
