Our branch radio didn't enjoy the salt water spray / bath from the RIB. We're about to buy a replacement, but would appreciate any views from other RIB users on good (or bad) marine radios.
(We're not looking for hand-held sets, but console mounted ones instead - one less thing to drop...)
Thanks in advance for advice.

We fitted a Navman DSC unit last year, very pleased with it. Simple to fit (much easier than the Silva unit. Seems to have put up with our usual level of general ab/mis/use without incident, still looks good as new. Fully waterproof with a decent guarantee as well. Can't remember exactly what we paid, but it was very reasonable < £150.

For us it has to be ICOM Easy to fit Fully waterproof and 3 year Warranty !!!
We use 2 H/H's and 3 fixed IC 401 and IC 421's brilliant gear.

Compact, DSC ready, nice robust feel to it, customer service is excellent as well.
Standard Horizon may be worth looking at too.
