50W halogen & LED umbilical torch. Adjustable power settings - 100%, 75%, 50%, and also dual-LED backup built into the head.

The torch is completely modular - can be used as an umbilical, or the cable removed and used as a lantern. Various combinations of handles, clips, and pouches included give a whole range of mounting options for the torch / battery pack. Upgrades are also available, including twin battery packs, any of dozens of different heads both HID and LED.

Specifications from FaMi: 3500°K colour temperature, battery pack 200mm long, 60mm in diameter. Head 100mm long. Runs for 55min at 100%, increased to 110min at 50% power. The two LEDs can be used for 80 hours from a single charge, useful in emergencies such as signalling on the surface. Note that my own burn test done very recently indicated a runtime of 50mins on full power before it switched to LED backup.

Construction is of anodised aluminium. The torch has had problems with its umbilical cable in the past, however it has just been replaced (under warranty) with a modified design of umbilical so shouldn't (so i'm told) cause any problems. Charger connects externally through a special end-cap, greatly increasing the integrity of the torch - without the need to repeatedly open the torch up, you reduce the risk of o-ring damage leading to leaks if you're in a hurry to get into the water, etc.

The light quality is very good, with a very bright hotspot gently fading out to a halo (see photo) - very smooth light, means you can keep some of your peripheral vision underwater compared to a very narrow beam.

Comes as the torch unit with umbilical (which can also be configured as a lantern), with intelligent charger (~4 hours charge), spare handle, belt clip for the battery pack, battery pouch, neoprene sleeve for the battery pack, o-ring grease, spare o-ring, and spare end-cap for the battery pack. All comes in a plastic, foam-padded carry case for it. Note that the charger isn't shown in the pictures, but obviously will come with the torch.

I spent around £400 on this setup (can't say exactly, since the upgradeability nature of the FaMi range means I didn't get the whole lot together) - i'm looking to sell it for around £210. Delivery paid by buyer, either £8.95 for Royal Mail Standard Parcels, or another Post Office method of your choice if you want it quicker. I can get it to Stoney fairly regularly, or can meet you anywhere in the Coventry / Warwick type area.

Contact me if you want it, or if you want more info.

** Note: was temporarily withdrawn last week as I didn't have the charger with me. Got that posted down now (i'm at uni) and all together, charged, and ready to go.

I've also done a burn test - FaMi state 55mins on full power, I got 50mins so batteries are still in very good condition. Will do a lot longer on 75%/50% power or its two backup LEDs.
