I know it's a little soon to be asking but we are in need of more instructors to help in Aberdeen Uni for all sorts of instruction after summer, indoor and out. I'm just looking so we can start thinking now about how man trainees we can take on next year.
I've heard some instructors in the area are a little bored and wanting to do more instructing....Just about all of our commitee and current instructors are graduating and disappearing.
Our training is on Tuesday and Wednesdays from around 6:30pm to 9pm, and we regularly dive at the weekends. If you think you could help us out, u07jg3@abdn.ac.uk
If you come and help train we can lend tanks and equipment. And we'll pay you in superb banter. hehe
Thanks in advance
Jennifer
Training young impressionable female students would prob be my ideal job but alas I live in glasgow so its prob too far :(

Hi Jennifer,
Have you contacted the regional coaching team? They could well be able to help you out and put you in touch with local instructors from other branches.
In fact I'm surprised Dave hasn't been on here to say the same yet!!;)
Look up Dave Sydenham, the North Scotland Regional Coach.
He's a member of these forums so you'll get his details here: http://www.bsac.org/coaching/scotlandnorth.htm
...tell him I sent you!
(he's my brother. :D )
Cheers,
Mark.

Hi Jennifer,
No problem, your friendly local Regional Coaching Team can help! :)
I have been talking with a few of your guys about helping out with more of your open water Sports Diver Training over the summer. In fact I remember rambling on in a rather drunken fashion to Jerry and Nick about it in the bar at your training weekend in Oban a couple of weekends ago :D
My branch has a couple of mad keen Assistant Diving Instructors who are looking to progress and as we do not have any trainees, your guys are the perfect opportunity to practice!
My plan is to help them and your trainee instructors whilst at the same time getting your Sports Diver Training covered. The idea is to help you to become more self-sufficient. As you probably know I came along to a number of your pool sessions to give feedback to your Assistant Instructors during your Ocean Diver Training? I intend to do the same thing but for Open Water Training. This way I hope to encourage and prepare all your Trainee Instructors for their exams and also help finish off their Dive Leader so that they are eligible for the exams.
What I hope to do is to run a number of midweek evening dives at Cove which I normally run for my branch but as I say we have no trainees so I aim to make it open to all and would especially encourage your guys to come along. All we are waiting for is some decent weather - pea soup viz just now! :(
I'll look at the tides for the next few weeks and will plan a few evenings and let you know.
Meantime if I can be of any further help please dont hesitate to get in touch - you can get me at scotland.north.coach_at_bsac.com
Cheers!
Dave

Hi Jenny,
Go to top of page and click on User CP.
Now look down left column and click on Group Memberships.
Scroll down again and click on the BSAC Uni area.
Its pretty new and if you add your name, chances are you might get a
bit of help from likeminded clubs. :)

Jenny,
Were you in Shetland this last week.
I found the Fin one of your divers lost and sent it down to Aberdeen with Fiona. She is going to leave it a Aberdeen Watersports.
Sound like a good time was had by all.
Regards

YAY! It was my fin.
Erm... there's a list:- one blue fin, one green fin, one shiny knife, one black thermal bootie. I seemed to drop something everytime I went near water.
Otherwise, a great time was had by all.
