Hi,
Can anyone point me in the direction of the current list of rebreathers approved for use with BSAC. I am interested in what is currently approved to see if that will help make my choice of unit any easier.
Cheers

You m ay want to look at this: http://www.bsac.org/techserv/rrc/documents/matrix.pdf
As he is thinking about getting an RB & not already trained to use one (as far as I know), would it not be better to advise people to take the BSAC RB course, at least for the Inspiration/Evolution/Drager, as opposed to another agency's course?

What is BSAC's view on completeing the training course if you dont own a RB. I fancy the idea of switching to an RB and have had a short try dive at LIDS but i like the idea of completing a cert course prior to buying a unit, as a sort of extended try dive to see if it is the right move/unit for me. TDI insist on a refersher if there is a break of more than 3 months without diving an RB, but I could see it taking longer than that for me to aquire a unit, especially if I decide on a new unit (unlikley given the cost)

Hi Darren,
Glad to see you are now hooked! There are no restrictions on completing a course if you don't own a Rebreather. I thinks it's sensible to have a refresher if you have a break between the course and getting a unit as you will lose many of the skills you learn on a course. E-mail me off list if you want a list of Tehnical centres that offer rebreather training.
Cheers,
Dave
