Hi,

This thread http://www.bsacforum.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=4100
triggered a line of thought in my mind, how many people on the forum have Blue Peter badges?
I here they can be sold on e-bay these days as children producing one can gain free entrance to many of the country's attractions.

So have you got one?

I have. although I dont think I pass as a child these days.:D

I have a Blue Peter badge :D

It must be about 40 years old. Will that give it added antique value on ebay?

Anne,

Did you vote?

My badge is over 20 years old but I was quite old when I recieved it.
I don't think the badges ever changed, mines is the hard plastic white shield with the Blue Peter on it, if yours is the same then you would'nt now the difference unless they have changed them?

Pity, otherwise we may have had a priceless piece of history.

I seem to remember Gold blue peter badges for very special awards, white ones for compertition winners and contributers to the program . My daughter says there's a green one for winners who have done something for the enviroment. ( Sorry Blob Tarts need not apply :p )

Very timely , given that I believe that a decision to withdraw the benefits was made on the 29th March so I think that sales will drop

That was the reason the benefits were withdrawn - too many on eBay.

I was well and truely peed off when my brother got one but not me. So I wrote in again, and again, and again. But eventually came to the conclusion at the tender age of about 8 that life is not fair. Scarred for Life...

My brother wrote a poem about one of the presenters going for a dive in on of the old suits with the tube and the pump at the surface.
I wrote something about gyroscopes, but that didnt work...

Me too, I wrote many times and even collected knives & forks for their Christmas appeal but alas no badge. On reflection maybe I was a bit young for Val Singleton.
Perhaps we could start a self-help group for "the badgeless":D

Missed the poll as well! :(

I got one for sending in an idea for making a Dalek in the early 80s.

Still scared of them now, the latest versions on Dr. Who are really good!

Because when a member of the regular community adds reputation and gives positive rep instead of negative you end up with lots of points
