Hi Guys

Im booked on the IFC being held by the North West region on the 23 & 24 April.

I know that the course is being held somewhere in Blackpool, but does anyone know where?

The joining instructions are sent out 2 weeks before hand, but I have to book digs and as its near the end of the Easter holidays (sorry if that term offends anyone!) I want to get one within a reasonable distance.

Try ring someone on the NW region, see http://www.jesters-sac.co.uk/northwest/ I would suggest the OWI coach would be a good place to start, if they don't know they will know a man that does

Ive done a google search for swimming pools in that area and there are about 5.

Plus probably at least a hundred private pools in schools, offices, hotels, gyms, etc.

It's likely to be - Blackpool Sports Centre, West Park Drive (Stanley Park)
plus nearby pool - St George's Pool, Cherry Tree Road.

I will e-mail the local organiser (Colin Mills) and ask him to confirm this with you and suggest contacts for accommodation.

And you gave that up to live in Sunny Devon ?!

Yes - I was a (junior) member of West Lancs branch in 1970. Used Cocker St baths...

Im travelling from the east coast to do the course.

glad im not the only one who will be lost and confused then - north scotland for me. Never been to Blackpool.

Ooooh I did my IFC at Blackpool a couple of years ago... same venues! I travelled over from Durham. Only problem was the weekend I went Blackpool was really busy and I finally found a hotel room, but it wasn't easy, and wasn't particularly close.

Pool was toasty warm as I remember, but apparently its usually freezing - just that the time I did it someone doing the IFC knew someone who worked at the pool :D

Be a fun weekend though :)
