View Full Version : O2 Kits - What are other clubs using?
Hi All,
My club is currently renting a discontinued BOC MarineLine kit - which is not going to be viable at the end of 2006 when our cylinder goes out of test, so I'm just doing a bit of research with regard to what other clubs are using and costs?
If your club has a kit it would be great to know, who makes it and what it cost roughly,
Or if you bother using one and just rely on any hard boats you use to carry one?
Thanks

We have one of these:- Marinox (http://subaqua-products.co.uk/marinox_therpy.htm) Which i cannot remember how much we spent, however we rent the cylinder (2 in the summer) from BOC for a couple of quid a month. Cost about £27 for a re-fill, and they pick up and deliver. No cylinder testing costs for us :)
A very reliable and robust set :)

10 litre nitrox cylinder, Poseiden first stage with the interstage pressure lowered, 2 flow restrictors from SAP, 2 constant flow bag masks. Cylinder and regulator were spare in the club so whole lot cost about £200 including the waterproof box.

We have 2 Marinox sets, one cambanded beautifully to the A frame on the RIB with 2 spare O2 cylinders on the bottle rack. Very self-contained. although if you look carefully you'll see the casing is actually made from soil pipe.

Another Marinox set here. The Yorkshire region also uses these too along with 2 positive pressure kits from SOS I think.

We've got several sets! Two Marinox's, which are the prefered ones people take, an SOS, and an older one in a peli case.
We've only recently added the second marinox. They're pretty much perfect for the job, I wouldn't really consider getting anything else (unless I went for the big cylinder approach with associated bits and pieces)
We've got two.
A SOS set which is getting on a bit but still very usable, we had it serviced a couple of years ago by the new company that replaced SOS.
A Marinox. Excellent unit no compliants.
Both sets have adapters so that we can connect to J cylinders & DIN scuba cylinders. Some one always has Nitrox, normally a rich deco mix, often on the liveaboards we have J's of O2 as well.

We got different size DAN Kits which are Ok, but best ordered from the US web page with an instructor discount (the European site is a lot more expensive). To safe further money delivery the kit to a USA address and let a Friend bring it over.

Hi.
The club rib has a Marinox set, and the club has bought 4 more sets to go in the private boats, after all it is still club members diving from them, and it is deemed safer that we have one on each boat than risk a members private boat not having one because they can not afford one.
marinox
not cheap but very reliable.
http://subaqua-products.co.uk/marinox_therpy.htm just over £600 including cylinder, regs and bomb-proof case.
