Hi,

Nice to see the traffic picking up on here as our user registrations keep growing.

Someone asked the question - how many of our users have just crossed over from the old BSAC forums, how many are new to the BSAC forum, but use other forums and how many of those here are experiencing their first taste of forum life?

So help me out - cast your vote on the poll and let us know how you ended up here :) .

If you are one of our BSAC members then there is a similar poll for you in the Members chat room - http://www.bsacforum.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=603 (if you vote in that one there's no need to vote a second time here).

Cheers,
Tristan

Bump!

[That's just a quick way of saying I've replied to this thread to move it back up to the latest date to bring it to your attention.]

Cheers,

Bump, again!

C'mon - we've got more than 1,100 users on here now and only 20 of you have voted.

Let us know how you found the forums.

Cheers,
Tristan

Jumping out of perfectly serviceable planes,
Going underwater with a limited supply of air,
Going at high speed speed on two wheels with no safety cage.

Bit of a theme here? :D

Hi, yes, I'm new - have logged on before and had a look but never participated so....here goes!

I qualified as a BSAC OWI this summer and am doing loads of training for my branch. Just called off diving at Vobster tomorrow though because the Sports Diver trainees in wetsuits think they'll be too cold! We're doing theory instead.

It'd be great to hear from others.

Cheers

AnTo,

They can be used as an indicator of popularity of one type or another. If you click on the scales icon of any post, you can leave a comment - good or bad - indicating agreement or just laughing at the post. This affects the number of points.

The more points you have gives you more awarding power, also you need a minimum of 50 posts before you can award reputation point. The longer a person has been a member, the more posts they are likely to have.

Generally used for fun, nothing serious should be inferred from the number of points.

There is no option aplicable to me on you poll!
I was on the old BSAC forum but not any others (unless a google search turns up a thread somwhere as the only source of info and it can be viewd by none members), and still feel new to forum life. I have been a subscriber of various BSAC club and regional mailing lists for a looooooong time though.

Hi I am just about to undertake the Sports Diver course and I want to buy a SMB and a DSMB, has anyone got any recommendations as to what to look for and what would suit a trainee sports diver, any help would be greatly appreciated.
