View Full Version : Twins?
Does anyone have any ideas on the best way to convert my BC (a ND guardian) to cope with twins?
Cheers

Gordon,
I don't know how any bands are threaded, but you might be able to use Buddy Twinning Bands. It will depend how many slots there are.

Hi Gordon
I'm sure Adrian is right, I used to have a Guardian some years ago and ND done a similar band set to go with it.

is it a problem that there is only one slot to put a band through the backplate? Every twinset Iv seen has had two bands, both of which bolt onto the BC.
James, your not suggesting Adrian could ever be wrong are you? <shouts "mutiny">
Thanks all

I guess you have not seen my kit.
If you want cheap and easy twins and have 4 slots side by side on the BC like this

remove your existing bands and replace by half a set of Buddy twinning bands (ie two loops and a block)
You can also add a the other half somewhere else on the cyclinders (ie near the boots.
I don't bother with the second half of the set (I only dive on tens) and I've never lost a cyclinder (in hundreds of dives using a scubapro BC and then later a back plate)
There are also other ways of doing it. ie twin the cylinders with the bands and then replace the existing band on the BC with a very lond band that goes around whe whole set (works well on a dive rite transpack !)
Of course you could buy a back plate, wings, steelbands and harness- but then again you don't have to to dive safely on twins.

Hello does anyone know if the APVales twinning band works with the Tigullio t52 I have ? I would love to try out a twin set and if find it useful upgrade to a wing.
Thanks,
Justin.
