Bad habits in this video

just came across this video...

..it shows some diving around coral reefs.

@14s you see a diver seemingly tied onto the reef. What's the deal with that? Is it kosher?

@35s You see a videographer seemingly leaning on a bit of coral. Surely that's not approved of behavior?

That would be a reef hook. Can't tell if the photographer is leaning on the reef due to angle, maybe he is just floating or the perspective?

As for reef hooks, different people have different opinions.
They are legal, if you are needing to stay still during current then they may do less damage then grabbing hold of coral e.g. photography.
However it is better that you don't touch it at all.

There are also the hazards of using one as you are physically attached to a rock.

I think the shot at 35 seconds is just perspective. I thought reef hooks were the "local policy" in some areas.
