Hello All
After reading the excellent article in Dive Magazine about Dunbar I am looking to organise a club weekend to Dunbar. I intend to take Ribs but considering none of us have been up to that neck of the woods before I was wondering if there are any dayboats that operate out of Dunbar which we could just pay the skipper to take us to the sites for a days diving which someone could give me the details of?
Would also be grateful if someone could point us in the direction of a decent campsite that does not mind Ribs being there.
Thanks in advance.

Michael,
I have not heard of any day boats from Dunbar, but it might be worth asking the East Lothian ScotSac branch. It's their doorstep. http://www.eastlothiandivers.org.uk/ IIRC they have their own RIB, plus sometimes do evening dives.

Not been there myself but quite fancy the idea of taking the RIB up.
There is a camp site a couple of miles east of Dunbar owned by the camping and caravaning club. It is a Barns Ness. We use their site a Beadnell and they NEVER have a problem with RIBs. (Although the do have a problem with very noisy people after 11.00 at night.)
Cant imagine they would be happy to allow them at one site and not another.

Let us know how you get on.

Michael,
Several years ago, Southport branch used Tantallon Caravan Park and hired mobile homes. They let us take 2 RIBS at that time.

Hi Michael,
I don't know of any boats operating out of Dunbar, but just a little further up the coast, at North Berwick, there is a chap called (IIRC) Gary Lawson with a RIB. He's just opened a dive shop too:
