Please have a read of this:

The person who sent it to me, as I, is considerably upset by this news even though, again as I, he considers that the Tsunami most seriously damaged the Japanese people, particularly those directly involved.

Nevertheless this "diversion" of funds, whether the diversion was from funds allocated by the Japanese themselves, or not, doesn't matter from a practical PoV, seriously upsets both him and myself.

Neither my friend nor I have any particular regard for the likes of the Sea Shepherd "foundation" (nor the Whaling Commission for that matter) however this smacks of rorting of a spectacular kind.

Of course I'm just a tad biased given that the Japanese are about to re-commence their "scientific whaling research" in what I call my back yard.

What to do? I don't know, I'm just bringing it to your general attention.

If you wish to publicise this further (it has already been posted on the YD and Divernet Forums) neither Matthias nor I will mind in the least.
