Are there any restrictions to diving after surgery? Apart from the obvious time for recovery etc, assuming a problem free recovery can one return to diving once they feel well enough? Am shortly to have surgery & then physio to correct a disrupted AC joint in my shoulder, then later in the summer I'm to have a laparoscopy......... after the initial period for recovery etc, could I leap back into the water & dive, or are there recstrictions after having a general anesthetic? Thanks.:)

Kristina,
This has been discussed several times here lately. Click on search and search for surgery should do the trick

My Wife recently underwent a carpul tunnel release operation carried out under a general anaesthetic and was told by DDRC at Plymouth to avoid diving for at least 3 months preferably 4. I would sugest giving them a ring and just asking there advice.
