View Full Version : OT: Printing 1st page on differnet paper?
Anybody know how to print the first page of a document from one tray and the rest of it from another?
ie page 1 goes on headed paper the rest goes on plain, without putting one sheet of headed on top of the pile?
So that everything a document is printed the first page is headed and the rest is plain.
Any idea would be good thank in advance.
If you are in Word:
File-Page setup-Paper
Then select the source for the 1st page then the source for other pages.

Sorted - I think :)

And if you are not in Word, give us a clue about Operating System, Program and the printer you are using

Not sure how to do it with a Xerox as the only one I have access to is on the blink, but there is a cover option in the "Paper" tab of the printer properties ("Select Paper" button, "Covers and Advanced"). You may be able to do something with that by telling it the first page is a cover sheet and therefore goes on to a different paper to the rest
The other printers I have here are all HP and on the "Paper" tab you have the option of selecting "Use different paper for first page" which does exactly what you want. So if you have any infulence maybe go for one of the big HP's as the replacement
With the word thing make sure you apply it to the whole document. If it has section breaks then word can be funny about applying it to all sections
Ah yes one of our HPs does have that feature, might have to have a move around.
cheers
