Hi Everyone,

I am planning to go diving down in Vobster this Saturday for a fun dive. However, I have been trying to complete my Dive Leader training for the past 6 years and would like to find a Dive Leader Trainer to take me through the last thing I need signed off - DO4: Shot Recovery Through Simple Lift.

I am willing to pay Vobby entrance to anyone that can do it. I may even treat them to one of those stupidly large burgers.

Furthermore, if you are London based, or can be found anywhere down the A303, then I can provide transportation.

Please let me know if you can help.

Many Thanks,
Tom.

Thanks for your enquiry. It requires some alignment with the aforementioned family! Let me see...

Also, I see from your profile you are BSAC OWI. Please can you confirm whether or not you qualified to teach BSAC Dive Leader drills?

Any OWI can teach the whole DL course.

We're now getting individuals travelling up from London to Loch Fyne to complete DL training during our monthly training sessions.

Hi Matt,

Have got the big-OK from the family so I can do Sunday.

My original plan was to get up super-early and get down there for opening.
How does that sound with you?

Also, do you want a lift?

Tom.

Hi Tom

I will be travelling from Emsworth (Hampshire Coast), car sharing with some fellow club members so will meet you there. Thanks for the offer though.

We will be leaving around 08:00 and arrive at Vobster around 10:00, which is just about the time the queue clears, in my experience. The times were arranged with the others last night so I would prefer not to change them. We should be able to get two dives, a decent surface interval and be finished by about 16:30.

I'll complete your shot line lesson and in return I only ask that you join in with the rest of the day's fun and games. I have an Ocean Diver trainee with a new drysuit to sort out, so your shot line drill will be the second dive of the day. There's also a Sport Diver and OW coming along but they can choose to tag along or sort themselves out.

I will have all the materials for the lesson with me but if you have your own lift bag, bring it along. Please remember to bring your QRB, proof of current BSAC membership and medical statement. A log book would also be useful. Assuming you complete the lesson without issue, I will sign up your QRB but it's up to you to make sure your DO/LI are happy to accept it.

You will get a PM with my mobile number shortly.

You might want to have a little think about the lesson and any special challenges completing it at Vobster might entail. I may be asking questions ;)

6 Years is too long. Let's make it happen.

Thanks - All sounds great. Happy to join in with the rest of your crew... In fact, really looking forward to it!

See you at 10.
