:) If anyone is thinking about clicking on this link - don't think - do it. What a good laugh. I've seen a similar thing happen not once but twice while we were kitting up for a dive - both times it happened on Ullswater.

I saw something similar happen once in Estartit many years ago before the marina was built. The road ran along the seafront. I was sitting at a table in a bar when I guy in a brand new 2CV pulled up in a hurry facing the water and jumped out to speak to a friend. What a double-take when he realised that the effect of pushing himself out of the car had pushed the car forward (presumably with no handbrake on) over the edge into the sea. It took all afternoon to get it out with a crane and I fear it was never going to be good as new again.
These events fall into the I-wish-I-hadn't-done-that category in which I am sure we have all participated at some time.

I'm afraid the link doesn't work in Germany - BBC regional encoding and all that jazz. If it's what I think it is, this might also be of interest to some:

The photos are real until the last one.

That is not what the OP was all about...but this is a more complete set of photos of the event you linked to! (thank you!)
The explanation of why the last photo is fake is flawed! The bystanders are NOT all in the same position - and anyone who has any knowledge of a local harbour will know that the white boat disappeared for a while ...just to collect his mates and some beers before coming back to watch!
(actually - a white rib anywhere in a local harbour that is not a marina on the Med is probably a fake anyway...anyone seen a white rib anywhere else but in the brochure???)
However - the underbelly of the second crane does look far to much like the first (when they are clearly of different sizes) to not at least raise suspicion!
I smell "photoshop" ...but it's still a good larf!:D
