Diving in Greece

As a result of some excellent debate on this forum I have been made aware that the law in Greece regarding diving has changed. I've always thought it would be a good venue - loads of islands and nice warm weather together with cheap packages and flights.

Has anyone been in the last couple of years and if so what's it like? I would particularly like to go in the winter months when the weather tends to make other venues unreliable...
