Well me and the Brother in Law have finally realised that having a competition ski boat on the sea is a Bad Idea. Yes- the 140hp V4 engine pulls your arms out of their sockets but on a 16ft Fletcher it's just plain silly, especially as it's only rated for 90. Any boat that can get on the plane in its own length and top 70mph is asking for trouble on anything apart from a flat calm, mirror like sea.
So- RIBs. We're after one. Something eminently towable (sort of 5.5m ish) although he has a range of 4WD cars to choose from including a Disco and a rather tasty series 2 SWB landie with a V8 ex-police car engine in it.
Must NOT be orange. Ideally 4 stroke but a modern 2 stoke would also be looked at. It's going to be used mostly for dicking about skiing, taking the family to beaches (out of Salcombe) and the occasional dive. So a full on bottle-racked dive RIB is not essential.
