I am rather enamoured with my current Mares M1 but have had it since 2003 so getting a bit twitchy about taking it to the Red Sea as it is getting old (like me - some may say :p). Only need said computer for depth/time/nitrox etc. Looking at the Mares Puck. Does it have the same easy battery change facility as the M1? Anyone got a Puck? Is it wrist watch size? If so too small for my eyes.
Would appreciate any advice/thoughts.
Eddie
It bigger than a watch, I have the same problem
I took my Mares Guardian on a Red Sea trip two years ago
Love Mares kit it does seem to last
You can download the Puck hand book and read up on it
Do you have DCDs on your PC for downlod on your M1
If so does it have Guardian as a menu option I would like to pass my Guardian along and the down load software has a missing file

Have seen a video of the computer on a website. Think I will go for it as it seems quite cheap. Bit worried about the one press mode access - but maybe that makes it work better :). The Mares M1 is so simple and suits me down to the ground but a failure of my current M1 on a Red Sea liveaboard worries me no end :p
Where do old dive computers go when they die  :D
Many thanks

Several old Suuntos live in one of my kit drawers. None of them have died yet. :)

My old branch used to have a trickle down on Suunto computers. Trainees normally started with an old Eon/Favour/Solution, then move on to a Vyper/Gekko/Zoop and only then buy a new computer which would normally be some flavour of Vytec.
They just seem to go on for ever, and when they don't Suunto are really good at helping out as seen by this (http://www.bsacforum.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=35356)

Donations always welcome
I run a student club and I was hoping to donate my Guardian, when the PC download software stopped
Computer still works as good as the day I bought it
(1998 my present to me when I passed my Sports Diver)
