View Full Version : Medical Declaration
I have a Bsac diving qualification and I am about to dive again after few years break. As I am not anymore a member of any diving organisation I am not quite sure how to go on to make sure my medical will be up to date and valid. Should I make a appointment to see Medical Referee? How about filling up this 'Diver Medical Heath Questionaire'?
Thanks, Maret

Hi Maret,
The UKSDMC is independent of BSAC, take a look at their website (http://www.uksdmc.co.uk/) and you should find a self-certification form. If you answer contrary to any of their questions go and see a diving referee and ask for a sports diving medical. A list of referees is kept at the same website

or have a look at the BSAC Medical Section http://www.bsac.org/medical/index.html
It's now Self-declaration and as Ben has said if you would answer YES to ONE of the questions you then need to contact a Medical Referee.
Welcome back to diving

If you fail any items getting it checked by a diving aware doctor is a good move. If you wanted to join a BSAC club they would need it as part of the application but it's not compulsory to just go and dive.

Some countries require a medical. The UK one is accepted everywhere AFAIK. The UK is self-certification as above.
