We are having a bit of a clear out at the club and have a load of aluminium cylinders to get rid of- we would like to get 10's instead.
They never see open water- we just use them for pool training.
They are all manufactured c.1975 apart from the 10L which is more modern.
All are 207 bar (apart from the 10 that is 232).
All have been hydro tested Nov 2005.
All have A clamp non-DIN valves

Prices:
AL60 £50 I have 6 of these
AL72 £60 I have 2 of these
AL10L £60 I have only the one

I can get them O2 cleaned for an additional £13.50 and if you want a 3/4" BSP DINsert valve, I can supply one (loose) for £29. Prices excluding shipping.

Credit card payments via Paypal can be accepted for a 4% surcharge.

I would have thought they would make top banana stage cylinders, especially the 72s. On a first pay, first have basis. They are advertised elsewhere.

Have the cylinders been tested by the Visual Plus method?. It is a "must do" for any pre 1995 ali cylinder.

Sorry mate, but the Visual Plus edie current method has to carried out at every test including the normal visual inspection. It is a crack detection system that is used to detect stress cracking around the neck area of cylinders made of a certain type of aluminium used pre 1995. All cylinders marked HOAL or BS 5045 / 3 / A or B must be checked for cracking. If any cracking is detected the cylinder is scrapped. There were a number of incidents where cylinders failed (exploded) due to stress cracking. This is why Luxfer offered trade in's to remove suspect cylinders. In 1995 the aluminium type was changed and the problem resolved. Cylinders marked BS 5045 / 3 / C and made post 1995 are OK.

If the cylinders are from the club that I think they're from, they've had several test cycles since then including the eddie testing.... I think I remember driving them to the test centre at one point!

I think I remember driving them to the test centre at one point! They are exactly those cylinders. And Pete Church tested them and he knows a thing or 2 about testing cylinders, what with being MDE's ex-technical manager and whatnot. Oh and an NI, FCD, and all the rest of that guff. In fact quite alot of people on here probably know him.
