I'm getting a bit fed up with all the kit buying and selling posts, which I'm not interested in.

I normally use the getnew link to see what's new since I last looked it's sometimes hard to find anything I'm interested in to the point where I end up just marking everything as read as I can't be bothered to trawl through it all.

I did see the tips in 'Adjusting the threads displayed with "New Posts" and "Today's Posts" ' bit this only works when you reissue the static URL not when you click on the New Posts button.

Is there anyway to adjust what threads you see when you click "New Posts"?

Ron.

Ron,

One way to get rid of this type of post from your "New posts" search is to do the following:

1. Click the big 'BSAC Forums' logo at the very top left of the page
2. Click on the forum that you are not interested in (eg Buy & Sell - Small Ads)
3. Use the 'Forum Tools' function (near the right end of the forum title bar) and click 'Mark This Forum Read'.

All the threads currently marked as 'New posts' in this forum will be changed to 'No new posts' and they will no longer appear in your new posts search results. Just repeat this exercise every few days/weeks/months as required to slim down you search results.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Tristan

Tristan,
Good one.

Now I can try and set it up as a script to run every time.

Bluddy 'ell Ron, wot's a "script"? ;)

Umm, you wanna send it to me when you've perfected it? That's yet another of those things I'm totally useless at.
