Feeling pretty down and hacked off today? Well here's why http://news.scotsman.com/features.cfm?id=108812006, according to the forumula developed at Cradiff university, today has been mathematically calculated to be the most depressing day of the year.

Well I for one couldn't be happier.
Life is indeed good. :)
Life is too short to worry about being depressed, I've taken the day off today and my eldest girl has just been taken to pre-school, now all I have to do today is pay my half yearly income tax bill before the end of this month...
One of these days I may even get a dive in.
Yeah right. :D

I'm feeling good, but then i'm on a day off and going diving out of Brighton tomorrow :)
Plus i've just got back from the garage and the possible expensive problem i thought i had with the car was nothing and they have given it the OK :)

S*d it!
I was starting to feel a bit better, after two bouts of surgery followed by rampant nose lurgy. I actually got back in the pool on Friday to take a 'Try Diver' in, and I took the MR2 out for a blat over the weekend.
Now this. It explains why I didn't want to climb out of the pit this morning.
I suddenly feel the need for a lie down.

today has been mathematically calculated to be the most depressing day of the year. And there I was blaming it all on yesterday at Horsea island doing rescue drills.
Or did they factor that into their calculations?
Hi.

:D Just when you thought this thread was over - I went on a trawl because I remember a few years back that by entering your birth date, age and occupation you could discover which dates were the bad days for your personality profile. I think the formula was a Japanese "invention".
Couldn't find that triple bad bay thing but found this instead:- :D

Too right it's the most depressing day of the year. Just as I was about to leave the office I was called into my bosses office and told that I wouldn't have a job from 1st March. Talk about having your weekend ruined!! I spent most of last year out of the water for various reasons and was looking at really getting back into things this season. Looks like that's been scuppered.
Don't suppose anyone here needs an account manager in EC3?

But, wait for it, the worst is yet to come, and it falls today: not a blizzard, a financial crash or even a rogue asteroid, but the dire convergence of all our seasonal woes, the most depressing day of 2006, as identified by psychologist Dr Cliff Arnall of Cardiff University's Centre for Lifelong Learning, an expert in seasonal disorders and a man who likes his formulae.
Ahhhh, poor Wales... Cardiff University will have just dropped 50 places in the University league tables as people realise that they'll give a PhD to any old nutter... and then let the nutter out of his padded room to talk to newspapers!
I mean really, what value is that formula to anyone? I really hope that research isn't funded by any of the research councils!

Sorry to hear that Ian. :(
I'm sure it won't be long before you are back diving and working.
How about analysing those lottery numbers for "luck improvement purposes?"
Premium Bonds have even better odds though.
