Do you have a story that you would like to share with the readers of Beyond The Blue magazine? Are you planning an expedition that you would like to get featured? Lighthouse Diving in conjunction with Beyond The Blue have launched the “Spot Light 2006” competition.

Beyond The Blue is keen to develop new writing diving talent, so this competition is open to all diving writers who have never been published before. This is your opportunity to see your work in print.

Whether you are into deep shipwreck exploration, maritime history, cave diving or a travel and adventure writer (especially those who stray from the paths followed by the rest) then your work could be featured. If you are not familiar with Beyond's articles then check out the ‘Wreck’, ‘Cave’ and 'General' sections on their website. It will give you a flavour of the articles they've run in the past. www.beyondmagazine.co.uk

Articles don’t need to be the absolute cutting-edge but should be aimed at Beyond The Blue readers who are advanced sport and technical divers, interested in many aspects of true adventure diving.

In addition to the normal fee for your article, each “Spot Light” feature receives a brand new Kowalski 620 lantern worth around £230 from Lighthouse Diving www.lighthousediving.co.uk The torch comes with a 3 Year Guarantee and 1 year guarantee on the batteries, so get scribbling now.

If you are interested then send an e-mail to ron@beyondmagazine.co.uk and he’ll send you the competition rules. There are four torches up for grabs (one for each issues winner) and this will run through to October 2006. So if you haven’t got your story sorted right now there’s no need to panic. Happy writing.

Chester BSAC Member http://www.chestersubaquaclub.btinternet.co.uk/ Justin Owen is the first winner of the Beyond the Blue Magazine Spotlight competition. Congratulations Justin. He submitted an article about searching for wrecks off Anglesey, which has been published in the current edition of Beyond. http://www.beyondmagazine.co.uk/ (Available from larger LDS and Stoney Cove as of Friday 17th March).

There are many good writers on the BSAC Forum, so if you fancy having a crack at getting published and winning a Kowalski torch, get writing and submit your ideas or stories to Editor Ron Mahoney. There are three Kowalski lanterns http://www.lighthousediving.co.uk/ up for grabs, so get scribbling.

Beyond The Blue is keen to develop new writing diving talent. Earlier this year they launched a competition in conjunction with Kowalski, which is open to all diving writers who have never been published before. Articles don’t need to be the absolute cutting-edge but should be aimed at Beyond The Blue readers who are advanced sport and technical divers, interested in many aspects of true adventure diving.

The next copy deadline to get your story and your images into the Editor is Friday 26th May, so get scribbling. This is your opportunity to see your work in print. And if you win the competition, then you'll also be taking home a lovely shiny 620 Kowalski lantern courtesy of those very nice people at Lighthouse Diving. Good luck to all who enter.
