View Full Version : Kyle of Lochlash
Organising a club trip to Kyle to do a couple of days diving on the Port Napier. Was there about 8 years ago and remember there was a compressor in Kyle somewhere but cant find any details. Anyone got info on present working compressors?
Also looking to book accomodation, seen a few b&bs, ideally looking for self catering for 6 people +. Any ideas?
Thanks

Hi
I was up at the Kyle in Oct/Nov last year for my first time and it was very good diving on the napier, we did it several times and there was still stuff to see so I hope you have a good time.
We were based at the Naval Centre and we took our own RHIB and compressor so accomodation and charging was not a problem for us.
There are a lot of B&Bs and bunk houses in the area so you might end up having to phone round for the best deal. As for a dive shop/compressor, I never saw one at Kyle of Loch Alsh and we never visited Skye as we were self sufficient and nothing went wrong with our kit. My advice would be contact the harbour master at Kyle of Loch Alsh to see if he knows of a dive shop/compressor you could utilize.
Have a good one

I took my RIB there a few years ago. Air is available from the Kyle fire station (for a small donation?).
Trailer parking around by the Station.
The best person to contact is the Kyle of Lochalsh Harbour master.
He may be John McRae on 01599 534589
Our club went there this year (Port Napier) with the Halmar Bjorge. Alot lot easier than dragging a RIB from Northern England to Kyle. Was Lovely viz.
