The SSS recompression chamber network have asked me to point out that an email purported to be from them (slating DAN america) is in fact from former management & therefore nothing to do with the current regime. SSS fully support DAN worldwide, as explained by both organisations in these links.....

Dave, you did a great page on the Gulf of Thailand and islands for us last year and we would like something similar for Phuket and the Similians, please!!! ;) We took our Phuket page down for a while till things settled down and now we would like to get it up and cracking again.
Steven - would be very very glad for any information you could also supply on dive sites, travel tips, hotel and accomm. Have a look at what we have for the Gulf side http://www.bsactravelclub.co.uk/where/thaigulf.htm
Just email me the text in any format except Works and also some pix if poss seperately and in 'jpg format.
It is important to differentiate between trip reports and the information on our country/location pages. Trip reports are subjective and very much a personal view. The info on the country pages needs to be more guidebook style and totally factual. Doesn't mean there can't be personal observations, just need to make it clear that this is what they are!
Also please encourage customers to write trip reports for the site. Have a look at our main list
http://www.bsactravelclub.co.uk/reports/index.html
There are guidelines at the bottom of the page. We reward all published trip reports with a £15 BSAC Mailshop Voucher as a small thank you.
Thanks guys.
Take care and look forward to hearing from you.
Allie
I'll have a look at it and send you some information.
Cheers,
Steven

I hadn't noticed the page had been down, but then didn't look as I knew what to expect and had never used the TC site.
However in hind sight taking the page down (as a result of the tsunami?) may well have not been necessary. The general tourist season is roughly Nov-May, so it was probably down at the one time they would have appreciated the business. Phuket was very empty in April last year.
The underwater scene appeared pretty much the same as I remembered from a few years previous.

Hi Adrian
We took it down on advice from a local correspondent because whilst the diving was relatively unaffected, the infrastructure etc was said to be variable and it was difficult to get "reliable" information with so much hype about. We did keep publishing situation updates in our Tsunami Info section. Will be very pleased now to get the page back up though.
