Hubby me and two children (age 11 & 7) are off to Tenerife at the end of 2005 and are keen to learn to snorkell before we go. Where about in Scotland could we learn - we live in Perthshrie.

If you email Carol Reid on carolreid3@btinternet.com she will be able to advise you about snorkelling in Scotland, she is the Advisor for Scotland south.

Hi,
In answer to Bob's request I've been hunting around for a Club in Perthshire where you could learn to snorkel.
I have not met with much success!
There are several Clubs in the area but none seem to mention snorkelling although this is a part of normal Diver training!
I'd advise you to get in touch with the Club nearest to your home and ask if they will give some basic instruction before you go on holiday - they may even have masks, fins and snorkels for you to use so you can find out what suits you best.
If you can find a Pool where snorkelling is allowed, I could even come myself and give you all a few pointers - have snorkel! Will travel!
Or come to our Club in Alexandria in August sometime!
Good luck
Carol
