My name is Arkadiusz. I am 27 years old. I come from Poland. Nowadays I live in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. My passion is water. I am an experienced lifeguard and scuba diver (CMAS P2/Wreck Diver/Nitrox 40). I have worked as a licenced lifeguard by the lake, by the sea and on swimming pool. I am also experienced for hotel work. I still support my experience with diving too. My hobby is a photography, paragliding and travels.
I am looking for a new job as lifeguard, diver or similar duties, for support etc. I'd like to develop my skill, supporting it in an action and get new qualifications.
Actually, I am not diving instructor but sometimes is required someone to support. I would like to ask.. please give me advice.. how or where I should looking for a job as a diving supportier?? What is the best way to start??
My contact: arkoslaw@yahoo.com
Any information will be useful and valuable..
Thank You very much

Thx, I know this website very well because I am looking for a job from over 1 month..mhh.. and nothing.
On the other side, when I am thinking about boring job in factory line or fish & chips shop, for egzample.. I think, that I will waste my time. So, taht's the reason I try to find any possibility to work in diving centre/base or any institution which is conected with scuba diving.. I would like to make a next step in this branch.
I found sth interesting but is not for me, not for this moment. First I have to save a little money for the training like this.. but maybe for some one else.. I advice: www.theunderwatercentre.co.uk
Rather, for the beginig, work in diving shop or supporting in scuba diving base.. not so high wage, rather expirience I need it :)
I hate to say it, but there are more than enough people willing to work at weekends for free in diving. There's not much paid diving work around.

I'm afraid Janos is right....so many people enjoy diving and they teach diving for free to increase their bottom time. Generally there is no such thing as paid work I am told that some instructors even end up out of pocket when teaching.
Not what you wanted to hear I know.
I also study, but I work double shifts as well to allow me the funds for diving...doesn't leave me much time to actually get wet though. Something always has to give I guess lol
Good luck, I hope you find something suitable that will help you.

What a pity.. but I understand.. maybe in future I will enjoy and teach diving for free to increase my bottom time too. But at this moment I uneployment without any plans for future, first time in UK.. so I think, that I should to find any job and later thinking about diving.. but, in any way.. I try to recognize dive community as soon as possible.. just incase, so many thanks for Aliphilip, Janos & Dave for helpfull information :)

If you are interested in getting involved in a local dive club then try looking at the Scarborough Sub Aqua Club Website. As far as I am aware, they are very active.

I have heard about this club.. and I have been there last Wednesday. They told me about general diving roles in UK, how to be a member of BSAC and Scarborough Sub Aqua Club's member too. I met new people, new divers.. so I hope they will give me more details when I will participate for next meetings. Now I understand taht is too early to seek a job as a diver but I still willing to do next step.. so if at all possible, give me your advices please.. Thank You :]

Hejka:)
