Hi
I am new to diving on the South Coast and was hoping someone could recommend some hard boat charters in Brighton or Eastbourne for the 14th and 15th May.
Cheers in advance :)

"The" Alex Benson - Formerly of York Uni and trips to Sharm????
Welcome to the forum mate. I suggest you look for a guy on here called Nigel Hewitt - Brighton based and a goldmine of information.
When you coming to Sharm next?

There are 3 diving charter boats running out of Brighton:
Channel Diver: http://www.channeldiving.com/
Brighton Diver: http://www.brightondiver.com
Seabreeze: http://www.seabreeze3.co.uk/
All three are catamarans with bog, kettle, diver lift etc
Eastbourne has a couple of diving charter boats too:
Dive 125: http://www.dive125.co.uk/
Sussex: http://www.sussexshipwrecks.co.uk/
To be honest you'll be lucky to get a charter at this late stage, but it's worth a phonecall as the skippers may be able to put you touch with charter groups with available spaces.
My club (http://www.croydonbsac.com) has charters on the weekends either side of that it that's any use.

Whoops - I'm wrong. We have charters on the 7th, 28th and 30th. See our divelist here (http://www.croydonbsac.com/Divelist/2011.pdf).

I fear that sums it up. Most skippers can sell the whole boat for the weekend at that time of year and only need to do individual place midweek and in the off season.
However the guys that booked the boat may well have drop-outs and the skipper normally knows when it gets nearer the time and can put you in touch.
OK you don't get to call the site but you get a dive.

You could also try Chris West's boat Bucanneer sailing out of Shoreham ( 4 miles west of Brighton). Chris has been diving Sussex for >40 years.
If you don't mind RIB diving, then contact Brighton BSAC to come as a guest diver.

It is the same Alex Benson from york, sharm and vorbster. Cheers for all the help everyone! I think you may be right that it is a little late to be looking for a whole boat. I will keep trying though!!!
