Maybe short notice, but I'm in Newcastle area this weekend (26, 27 Feb) and would love to get wet (rather than shopping with the family). Don't get me wrong, I love the family but maybe I love my diving a teensy bit more! Any ideas, sea or quarry, Rhib, shore or whatever?
Thanx for any ideas!

Farnes about half an hour away, give a few of the boats a ring to see if any of them have a spare space

Idea! I have some numbers from guys at my club (CSAC) so I'll get on the phone. I've heard seals and life etc are great around the Farnes................Thanx
Failing the Farnes you could always head a bit further North to Eyemouth
MV Scimitar (Aquamarine Charters) is going out and the skipper said he had spaces.
here is a link to their web site http://www.aquamarine-charters.co.uk/
Have a good weekend dive :)

There is always St Marys island near to Whitley bay, a nice shore dive with a couple of wrecks off the light house or Browns bay which is a nice easy shore dive. Plus there is r was a dive shop in Whitley bay its self

Don't think you'll see many in at Browns Bay or St Marys. The conditions have been excellent for the surfers at Tynemouth recently... :(
Farnes or Abbs would be my suggestions if you're after a 'proper' dive. Hartlepool is an option if you want to check out kit, weight etc. It has some interesting points to it but you need to be very keen.
