Hi All,
I recently looked into crossing over to Beezak and discovered that there isn't a branch in the South side of Glasgow, or indeed in Glasgow itself. I have also found out there is a "lot" of divers in Glasgow that are not affiliated with anyone, be it SSAC, BSAC or PADI club, and more again that are pi**ed off with the way their branch is being run.

The questions to the panel are;
How would I go about starting/opening up a BSAC branch?
How do I deal with crossovers from SSAC/PADI?(I too would need to crossover from SSAC quals)
If it was initially a diving only/no training branch, does this affect funding for boats/compressors/etc?

The long term plan would be to do training, I'd just rather get some sort of semblance of organisation within the branch before we took on trainees.

Peter

Some things you might want to have answers to, for when a prospective member (like me) asks about your new BSAC Branch.

What sort of diving is the Branch going to undertake?
Will the Branch conduct training?
Will the Branch have the use of a swimming pool (where, when)?
What sort of membership fee will there be (in addition to the BSAC subscription)?

I?m sure you can think of some more, after all what would you ask?

Hello, to start a BS-AC Branch either contact the local Regional Coach. You can find contact details for the coaches on the web site. Otherwise you can contact BS-AC Headquarters and speak to the technical department. All are helpful.
