Having been accused (falsely IMHO ;) ) of passing gloom and doom in the recent past I thought it was about time to spread some happiness. This came up this morning. I wonder who will be the first UK diver visitor?

'Blonde women only' Maldives island hits snag as half of staff need wigs

A holiday resort on an island in the Maldives which bosses plan to staff using only blonde women is facing a major problem, but it's not over discrimination -nearly half their staff actually have dark hair and will need wigs.

Lithuanian company Olialia (pronounced 'Ooh La La', apparently) plan to construct the luxury resort - presumably aimed at high-flying businessmen - in the Maldives on a man-made island shaped like a high-heeled shoe.

But Maldivian laws stipulate that at least 50 per cent of any foreign company's staff must be from the local population.

And while blondes are ten a penny in Lithuania, very few locals from the Indian Ocean atolls actually have blonde hair.

Never fear though, Mr Drooling Businessman, your 'blonde-only' haven still looks set to become a reality.

Brand manager Lauryna Anuseviciut said Olialia are going to navigate the rather significant problem by ensuring any employees with dark hair wear a wig.

'Staff who are not blonde will wear a blonde wig to make everyone look similar,' she said.

Well done Tony! Happy for you but wouldn't be for me as I rarely watch the prog (unless I am on a flight somewhere  ).

Does this mean you get to stand as a amorphous mass of peeps in a vast aircraft hangar acting as a back drop as the presenter's ardent admirers? Laughing at everything that JC et al say? :p

Anyway I know I will have to drop beneath the parapet again after this post as the prog appears to be enormously popular all over the world and that I am in a minority of almost one ;)

Enjoy your happy moments :D

Best wishes

I shall stand at the back, cos,I'm not photogenic, I'm not young and of the incorrect sex.

However, I expect to laugh a lot and may even smell some cars. :)

Dave. Are you trying to say that this venerable old gent is a 'Mr drooling businessman' and may, just may go to visit this idyllic island? :o

Have to ask the missus first.... And that is not happy. :p

This could make someone happy ;)

Apparently tour operators are offering big discounts to tempt travellers to return to Tunisia. Thompson has halved the price of a fortnight at a five-star hotel in Hammermet - now down from £926 to £464 for March 6th departures. Co-op Travel has a 3 star hotel from £135, including flights, for flight departures in March.

You are the air that I breathe: Divers have marriage blessed at London Aquarium

While many use Valentine's Day as an annual excuse to splash out on a bunch of roses or a nice dinner, some couples take the celebration just a little bit further.
Aquarists James Oliver and Kathryn O'Connor celebrated February 14 with an underwater blessing at the London Aquarium.
Kathryn wore. Giant green sea turtles, cow-nose rays and shoals of colourful tropical fish swarmed around the couple during the blessing.
