Having lost the thread in which this nugget of info was explained by 1 of the many regular contributors to this forum I wonder if

A) Someone can point out the thread or
B) Do the very in depth ( no deliberate punning honest :) ) explanation again.

Cheers muchly

For the life of me I cant remember who wrote the bit but it sounded like a good experiment to do

Fully open all the time unless you're on the surface waiting for the boat to pick you up.

That works for me.

Don't think that is completely right.

Should also be shut when on a RIB running back in from a dive :D

not sure what dumps you guys use?!?! but i find Sitec are best 1/2-3/4 open,,, whereas the apex 100% open

Should also be shut when on a RIB running back in from a dive :DEven if it's not you won't sink if you fall off. You'll just float there looking a bit peeved. I use Apeks dump valves, BTW.

Not about sinking it is about that warmth from an inflated suit

And I also use Apeks (not Apex)

As Woz.

If you start to close it suddenly you aren't running 'Auto' any more but something based on limited overpressure so you have to start waving your arms about to make things dump and topping it up.

Looking at all the above advice

Best leave it well alone and learn to dive :D
