CSR wetsuit

I am currently at college studying outdoor sports and have bought a CSR wetsuit for kayaking, it is a 5mm winter suit and I found recently that about half way down the zip there is some sort of hook/cloth ring that is tugged away and have no idea what it is used for.

I was wondering if any one wpiuld know what it would be used for?

After recently buying a shorty and new to diving myself, I was prompted to investigate the same curiosity!

Apparently it it a key holder so you can safely store your car/house key inside your suit with no pocket. Obviously not a good idea with a modern electronic car key!

yeah that does make sense as my board shorts as a similar systme in the pocket :) cheers
