Hi all

I have the Vytec computer, and with my old laptop was able to downlaod all the information into the Dive Manager software.

My old laptop has gone to it's resting grounds with a little bit of help from me, but my new laptop does not have a serial connector for the Suunto Download cable.

Does anyone now of an alternative or are/do Suunto supply maybe a alternative to connect it to my laptop, ie USB.

Any help would greatly appreciated.

Thanks All
Mike.

You can also get a PC card serial port for about ?110 if you want to keep the usb ports for other things or you can get a USB hub with a built in serial port for about ?60

All three options are available from the decent mail order dealers or from a good PC shop

Thanks Guys

I have actually found a cheaper source than Maplin (Lindy Electronics).
I have just installed it and all is Ok.

Thanks for the help.

Just a thought: Why don't Suunto create an interface for the USB connector, we are in the 21st century.....

(Wish full thinking)

I pointed this out to them and they said no all new computers still have serial ports

Very Niave of them,

I have bought several laptops in the last few months and none of them come with serial ports, but all of them have USB ports.
(But some do have them, depends on the model, the commercial industry are slowly fading out these ports because of USB)
I work for a software/computer reseller....

Anyway, problem sorted for know, just thinking about the future...

Thanks
