View Full Version : Registration Problem
The original registration page just has user name and no space for actual
name.
So the database doesnt see me under TerryH because I'm not there under
that.
When I tried the Instructor one, I got .......

Terry,
The membership system relies on memberhip number (Annnnnn), branch number (nnnn), and renewal month. I think it is renewal month most get wrong. Some base it on when the Treasurer asks for it, rather than the month that the new membership runs form :)

Way to quick and efficient.
Carry on like this and you are in danger of getting a good name.
Thanks Adrian.

Adrian is spot on, it needs all three and they must match. Yours was one month out Terry, I've fixed it for you. I'll do a write-up for the next 'Tip Of The Day'.

Thanks Keith,
That will serve me right for paying my membership a month early :-)

It was actually a month later than you thought Terry - but don't let trivial little facts like that stop you from complaining! :D

What happens if you change clubs?
Would your registration details need to be changed?
Also - just a thought what happens if your membership lapses?

If all three fields don't match members access will be declined. In the case of a change of clubs leave it as it is until the membership secretaries/HQ catch up, if you suddenly loose access then put your new club in as the HQ database has probably been updated. For lapsed members there is a period of grace to allow for delays with renewals, but after that period has expired access to BSAC member facilities will be withdrawn. All of this is fully automatic.

ok - again slightly off topic - but i'm now a member of 2 BSAC branches, possibly soon to be 3...;)
i'm a committee member of one of them, and this is my main club so i'm not "changing" clubs as such - so i put my main club number down - the one with the A prefix - correct?

Spot on Helen! What we do at HQ in your case is that you have a "primary" branch, that's the one who collects your BSAC fees, that's the one on your membership card and the one that our system recognises along with your 'A' number.
