JVC GZ-HD300 Underwater Kit looks like a nice bit of kit does anybody have any idea how this camera performs as both video and still? Thanks folks

I know next to nothing about video but in today's market I would look at a dedicated still camera that also does (HD) video rather than the other way around. It appears that video doesn't shoot particularly good stills but that still cameras can shoot pretty good video. The added benefit is that the housings are generally more compact.
I'd also look at (the likes of) Ikelite (http://www.ikelite.com/web_two/jvc_hd300.html) for the housing rather than simply going with the, in this case, JVC one. Camera manufacturers can make pretty good cameras but they generally have less of a clue where housings are concerned.
