If anyone happens to be planning a dive on the Elk out of Plymouth in the next week or two, East Cornwall Divers left their shotline on the wreck today.
It's definately on the wreck(!) so you'll have no risk of missing the site ;-)
It must have got tangled or dropped into one of the holds as we couldn't retrieve it. It has a faded pink buoy attached, Longroom Port Control are aware it's there. Down on the wreck attached to the shot itself is also an open ended SMB which isn't inflated - we couldn't get any air into the thing!
We couldn't dive again to recover it as all divers were out of dive time and low on gas.
We'll try and arrange a collection dive soon if we need to but we did wonder if someone might be planning to head out that way soon? If so safe return of the shot would be rewarded!
Safe diving!
