Sorry, It's Rebreathers Again

I note that the BSAC has now qualified its first rebreather divers and very proudly announces the fact on the News(flashes) page. Now, from memory, I took delivery of my unit in 98 and I believe the first units were delivered in 97. So despite the fact that there have been no fundamental changes to the Inspiration in that time it has taken the BSAC 7 years to run their first pilot course. Only the Government can normally get away with a performance like that!

Great sound bite response but since there were two other agencies doing courses where was the problem? Not having a BSAC course stopped neither of us diving one.

A bad course would have been far worse than no course and although we have the experience within BSAC much of it was in people committed to other agencies for whom just rewriting their course on BSAC paper would be unethical.
