Did my first dive with the VR3 today. We did 2 dives on the Zenobia both to 40m & both with about 20-25mins deco. I ran the VR3 alongside my Stinger for comparison. The first dive there wasn't much difference apart from the microbubble stops but on the 2nd i still had 25mins deco left on my Stinger when the VR3 had cleared. I had VR3's the safety factor at 0 & was wondering how other people dived it. I know the Stinger is conservative but 25mins seems alot to miss.
Cheers

I don't know about the VR3, but perhaps the question refers equally to diving on ProPlanner (without the VR3).

In which case, most people I know set it at 25/25.

With these settings, it seems not dissimlar to diving on an "air computer", eg. Cobra/Vyper set to 21%

Hallo Rob,

when using my VR3, I have it set normally to a minimum of 30%.
When doing say 2 x 40 m deep dives per day on consecutive days with significant deco and particularly on accelerated deco, I would tend to turn it up even higher say 40%. The lower settings - say 20%, I only use when doing minimum deco sport dives. The 10% setting is fine for really simple, really shallow sport dives in ideal conditions with no predisposing safety worries - a nice slow ascent and a sensible profile does most of the deco on these dives anyway. For Trimix I set it to 30-40%, moving slower into the deco zone and extending the shallow stops more than required. The 50% setting, I use for 70m+ dives or expedition diving. I do not normally change the settings during a group of dives. The VR3 is a fantastic tool. Hope this helps.Iain.
