I have recently returned to the UK from the USA and I brought my luxfer aluminium tanks with me. I am having no luck finding a test station that will test them. Does anyone know if there is in fact a test station in the UK that will certify US aluminium tanks? They are DOT3AL3000 tanks.
Part 2 of the question is: Does anyone know of a market for untested aluminium tanks in the UK for any purpose, not just diving?

Cut the cylinders and use them as a training aid

Was only chatting about DOT3 testing to the owner of my LDS on Thurs... the guy he uses to do cylinder testing can do DOT3 testing too....apparently there are only about 3 centres in the UK that will do DOT3
Not sure where he sends the cylinders but the dive shop is in Wigan, Lancs.

And if you get them tested to a non-UK spec who will fill them?
I have some cylinders with Austrian stamps and I have never considered taking them to a shop. I am just resigned to filling them myself at home.

Thanks for the suggestions.

That would be at the digression of the filling station.....
Then again a filling station can still refuse to fill a cylinder that is in test to UK spec!!!

Contact Wayne at Diveline in Ipswich... he will test them for you.... he also keeps UK spec valves that fit US tanks on the shelf.:D

I have spoken to Diveline. They will test them and quite happily fill them after test, but will not IDEST certify/stamp them. As I live in Northampton, Ipswich is too far to travel for a fill!!

If he's got 3/4" NSP valves he wouldn't happen to have 3/4" BSP valves and isolating manifolds too would he?
