I've got lots of numbers (about 700 sets) that I'm happy to give to any fellow diver without obligation.

Some are confirmed by fishermen (who have caught nets or regularly take anglers to a wreck)

Some confirmed by divers

Others are magnetometer reports from divers returning from other wrecks searching on the way.

If you want them ...just ask

I can also give you marks for about 300 off Dover and Folkstone, but if you buy electronic charts for your GPS you will find them anyway.

General rule i have found is if you don't get a sig on your fish finder try 50-100m North and you will get the bugger. Or drop a shot on the centre point and do a circular search around it.

Regards and happy wreck hunting

We have had some success, and coincidently have found our wrecks some 100yrds NW of given plot, I know there is a given allowance form mark to GPS mark.

I didnt know about the electronic charts, is that an expensive bit of software?

cheers,
Rich.

No, i think we paid ?250 for coverage from North of the Thames Estury along to Portland (The M2 is just off them by a few hundred metres). I don't worry about detailed marks now, i plan a target wreck, but reasearch the others around it. if i miss the target i go for the others in the area (we do have rather a lot here).

To buy another block is the same i think and we just add a small memory chip. i will have a look at it and let you know for definate our BO dealt with it all.

Paul

PS Where you at? I have to visit family in Bexhill several times a year and would luv to guest dive to get me out for a few hours. You'd be welcome in return off Dover, i'd take you to a good 'un or 2 on Neaps.

I also have around 900 marks for some 500 wrecks mainly along the south coast (all in an excel sheet).
If any of you want to send yours to me for inclusion I will collate and return a full set.

Mine are currently a mix of book, chart, GPS, DGPS and are all currently record:
Wreck
Fix Type (chart/gps etc)
Datum (OSGB36/WGS84 etc)
Lat XX?YY.YYY N/S
Long XX?YY.YYY E/W

so a similar format would save me time when including any others .....
