Hi,

I know there are a few members that are based in egypt and a few that would have just come back from holiday.
Can anyone please tell me the current exchange rate in Egypt? I am off to sharm in 2 weeks and wondered if it was better to take currency with me or exchange when i get there if rate is better.

many thanks in advance
Simon

Take hard currency with you and change it over there. I changed £100 or so here when I went in August and got a rate of about 7.80 to the pound. Locally, I was able to get close to 10.

Get it changed in Egypt - its always about 10% better than the UK. Currently around 1:9

Take a card & use a cash machine (most big hotels have one). Best rate.

Hmmm, according to XE (http://www.xe.com/) 1.00 GBP = 9.11681 EGP - as at a couple of minutes ago.
