Hello, my name is Patricia. I am a final year occupational therapy student. As part of our course we need to design a research project and I have decided to focus on the psychosocial benefits of scuba diving for people that have suffered spinal cord injury and as a result suffer from paraplegia or tetraplegia. My research also wants to focus on what needs to be done in order to make scuba diving more accesible for people that have become wheelchair bound.
In order to carry out this research I would need to get in touch with at least 3 people (men or women that are full time wheelchair users) with spinal cord injury that decided to start scuba diving on a regular basis after their injury.
I thought writing on this forum could give me the opportunity to find out how popular is scuba diving in the Uk amongst people with spinal cord injury. I would really appreciate any information you can provide me with, It would be great to get a filling of how easy/difficult it would be for me to find people interested in participating in my research.
Thank you very much to all, looking forward to hearing from you. :p
