Hi all just wondering has anybody any experience with fluxgate compasses on a small RIB, normal magnetic is no good on our boat due near by electronics ect, the one I was thinking about is the NASA fluxgate, they cost about ?130, do they have a remote sensor, and will they stand up to the riggers of RIB use.
Thanks in advance Nick.

Can't remember what we had on our branch rib (cos I left that branch some time ago) ...but it worked fine with a remote sensor on the A-Frame - away from the battery and magnets in the console....which gave us deviation of up to 90*
The poximity of the engine did not seem to affect it.
