Lutterworth Sub Aqua Club currently has three spaces available on a boat handling course that will be running throughout October and early November. I would be grateful if you could circulate to your members on my behalf please.
The theory sessions will take place at the Lutterworth College on Tuesday 5th, 12th and 26th October commencing at 7.30pm each evening. The practical sessions will take place in Weymouth/Portland over the weekend of 6th and 7th November 2010.
The course will be conducted by LSAC instructors utilising the clubs two RIBS. Participants must be able to attend all three theory sessions and the two day weekend practical sessions.
Based on six participants the estimated cost per participant is £110 - 120 including the course pack. (The total cost towing fuel, boat fuel, boat costs, launching etc is to be split equally between all participants) Travel and accommodation costs are the responsibility of the participant; however we have a friendly B&B in Weymouth charges reasonable rates of £64 per twin/double and £37 for singles per night.
Conducting the practical sessions over two days and also completing the theory sessions before setting off for the coast should allow for around 4-5 of one to one on water instruction per participant, well in excess of the minimum course requirements.
